Naturally Sweetened Chocolate Milk

  • 4 cups whole milk chilled
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt


  • Put the milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt in a large measuring bowl.
  • Whisk well, working to fully incorporate the cocoa powder.
  • Place a mesh strainer over another measuring bowl or mixing bowl. Pour the milk through the strainer to remove any remaining clumps of cocoa powder.
  • Serve immediately, or place in airtight container in refrigerator to chill.


If not consumed immediately the ingredients will settle. Shake before serving.
