Homemade whipped cream is a delicious treat, and it is quick and easy to make. Most commonly, a mixer is used to make the whipped cream. However I am also going to share how to make homemade whipped cream with or without a mixer!

Homemade Whipped Cream

Homemade whipped cream is very versatile. I use it on pies, ice cream, on top of fruit, and I have even used it in place of frosting on a cake. I love the simplicity of it. It is a delicious treat and homemade whipped cream is so decadent compared to store bought alternatives.

Ingredients:

-1 cup heavy cream

-1 tbsp maple syrup

-1 tsp vanilla

How to Make Whipped Cream Without a Mixer

Making homemade whipped cream without a mixer is a really fun and kid friendly activity!

In order to make homemade whipped cream without a mixer, you will need a glass jar with a lid, a marble or two, heavy cream, maple syrup, and vanilla.

The first step is to put the heavy cream in the glass jar. Then add the maple syrup and vanilla.

The cream will expand a little as it turns into whipped cream, so make sure you do not put too much in your jar. To be safe, I like to fill the jar about halfway.

Next you will put the marble in the jar. I prefer to use two marbles as I find that it makes it turn into whipped cream faster. Lastly, put the lid on and start shaking the jar.

Just keep shaking and shaking and shaking until it turns into whipped cream. It usually takes about 5 minutes for me.

You will know that it has turned into whipped cream when you no longer hear the sound of the marbles against the glass as you shake the jar. That indicates that the cream has thickened.

Make sure you remove the marbles right away so you do not accidently serve them up.

How to Make Whipped Cream with a Mixer

Making whipped cream with a mixer is very simple (and does not require the muscle power like the other method!).

All you need to do is place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Turn the mixer on medium high and mix until soft peaks form. This usually only takes a minute or two.
